Polarised Lenses

Light is made up of waves travelling in all different directions. Vertical light is useful to the human eye as it helps us to see. Horizontal light however, simply creates glare which reduces visibility. Ordinary sunglass lenses work by cutting down the amount of light transmitted through them by means of a tint. The darker the tint the less light is transmitted through the lens, this will reduce glare but does not eliminate it. By comparison, polarised lenses will cut out all of the horizontal light thus totally eliminating glare. For this reason, sunglasses with polarised lenses are particularly suited for use in fishing, boating and other water pursuits. Drivers also hugely benefit from the use of polarised lenses as reflections from the windscreen and road surface are eliminated giving a much sharper view.
